Do you remember designing your first database? Fumbling through the relationship graph, trying to find the best way to connect one table to the next? You probably flipped through the manual searching for the support you needed to make it to the next step.
Similarly, we all fumbled our way through our first DevCon, rolling the dice with your hard-earned money, and crossing your fingers that you would have that incredible experience, to make it all worthwhile.
Now, imagine if you knew the anchor-buoy system? One table supporting the next and creating a flow of information that made your whole database system just work. How would your first DevCon experience have been different, if you had the support of the fellow women of FileMaker to help you get there?
Imagine how much further you would have gone with funding for a DevCon pass, the support of a mentor and a group of fearless females, who have already carved out a place in the sea of pocket-protectors just for you.
Hopefully, my comparison is lost on some of you already, since we’ve come a long way over the years.
I started using FileMaker v.5 in 2002, but I had never considered going to DevCon until I joined a FileMaker Meet-up and met a fearless female FileMaker developer, who encouraged me to attend. I found my way there in 2016 and met a great group of women at my first Women of FileMaker Luncheon!
This year we’re raising money to be able to help four women take full advantage of their first DevCon (2018) and hopefully help propel their FileMaker Developer Career.
Be their Anchor. Donate via our GoFundMe campaign.
If you can’t donate right now, sign-up to become a mentor, assist with the luncheon or encourage the FileMaker women in your life to attend and help build-up the next generation of female FileMaker Developers.
